Herc Koustas FCA FTIA

Founding Director

Herc Koustas is a Chartered Accountant and the founding Director of Koustas & Co.
With over 20 years experience, he advises clients on accounting, taxation, business and corporate advisory matters.

His diverse client base includes both private businesses and large corporates. They range from manufacturing, engineering, robotics and automation, medical device, communications and primary production to retail, wholesale and construction businesses. He also assists multi-national organisations establish and operate local branches and subsidiaries in Australia, New Zealand, Europe and the U.S.

Herc consults to the SME (small to medium enterprise) market in providing structuring advice, asset protection initiatives, business management consulting, business transitions and succession planning, superannuation, retirement and estate planning services.

His passion in helping to improve clients’ business performance has made him a key contributor at management and board meetings, where his advice on strategy development, implementation and benchmarking activities is highly sought after.

An industry presenter on technical and business topics, Herc is also active in training, education, and professional development. He thrives on contributing to knowledge transfer (especially to other accounting professionals) and believes that it’s of paramount importance to ensure that a new generation of talented and esteemed advisors emerge in the future.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Economics degree from Monash University, Melbourne, in 1988, he went on to gain his chartered accounting qualification and later, his Certificate of Public Practice. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (FCA), and a Fellow of the Taxation Institute of Australia (FTIA). He is also a member of both the Self-Managed Superannuation Funds Professional Association of Australia (SPAA) and Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and is a Registered Tax Agent.

Herc’s passion for helping clients has resulted in trusted, successful and sustainable business relationships. Since establishing Koustas & Co in 1998, he feels privileged to have contributed to transforming family/start-up businesses into successful multi-million dollar organisations.
